  As an optometrist I am glad you pulled out the safety glasses.  I’d recommend you wear them all the time under a car.  I have mechanics down the street that regularly see me for digging rust out of their corneas

  As a northern mechanic it's sooo much easier when the bolt brakes. No heat no rounded off bolt, no special size sockets

  Hot tip from a chemist regarding the block tester: gases are LESS soluble in warmer liquids, kinda the opposite of solids dissolved in liquids. So you will get way more vapor pressure from dissolved gases if the coolant is operating temperature.

  Thank you, AMD.  The 2009 Tacoma SR5-DLT and I just made a 9 day, 3000 mile trip from the west side of Idaho to East St. Paul, MN and back.  I am impressed that Toyota engineers were able to design a cruise control that works with the manual transmission, that it was able to be built, and it held speed well across the rolling hills.  It does slow down on steep mountain passes, but it does warn you to drop down a gear and take control.   I was beat after a nearly 600 mile day of driving through thunderstorms and gusty winds (several days each way) across the Great Plains.  Thank you as always for your advice and support!  🛻
