  I think it’s really cool that the guest actually WANTS to hear out different world views and moral philosophies. He actually absorbs the information and applies it to his own views instead of firing back with a witty remark. So refreshing to see after so many inflammatory “debates” that go for gotchas instead of conversation

  I really liked his question about how to convince an emotivist slavery is bad. In regular online debatebro style it would have been phrased as &quot;So you think slavery is fine as long as you feel good about it?!&quot;. But instead he phrased it in a fun challenge, that actually allowed Alex to explore his moral views.

  God I love when the two people in a debate/discussion are actually engaged with each other and respectful, and very clearly committed to the actual objective of discussion which is getting closer to the truth.

  I might have to embrace ethical emotivism myself because it is so clearly such a brilliant jiu jitsu move when dealing with apologists who have only ever prepared to respond to one argument
