My honest advice to someone who wants financial freedom

I have moved to Vietnam where my monthly cost of living is about $850 USD. I found a way to help people with their English online even though I have no Bachelor's degree, I am simply a native English speaker. I work 2-4hrs a day, Monday-Friday doing that, which covers my costs here and in my spare time I work on my side hustle. I'll stay here until I succeed!! I'm living frugally but happily because I love Vietnamese food and culture. So while it may seem like a sacrifice to some, it feels very abundant to me 😃

I am 77 yrs old and comfortably retired so I have no idea why I watched your video all the way to the end😊 However, since u r such an interesting guy and live such an interesting life I liked and subscribed and I am looking forward to watching more of your videos. U have certainly found something that u r good at doing with You Tube videos!

I’m actually very introverted too, even though most people assume I’m extroverted. I’m good at conversations and genuinely interested in others, so it often surprises people. The truth is, while I do enjoy spending time with people, social interactions leave me completely drained. I usually need three to five business days-or more!-to recover. 😂

I'm retiring at 55 (I don't see that as unreasonably young) and the looks and questions I get from people because it's not in the realm of being able to collect Social Security. If I get that at 55 I can't even imagine the judgment at 24, but at the end of the day it doesn't matter what other people think.

I moved to Japan. In America, my spouse and I made 110k and were paycheck to paycheck, tied to a HCOL area. Now, we make 45k a year but we have a completely paid off house, everything is more affordable, and we can make savings/consider retiring in our future. We couldn't manage that in the US.

Based on experience, my rule of the thumb is never to leave a job until I have started another.

Thanks Gabe, I've always thought the most important skill in life is consistency. It doesn't matter if you're not the smartest, strongest, or most handsome in the crowd, but if you're consistent, you'll be better than most people.
