Big props to snapmaker and the U1 for being early to the market while embracing the community. They set a good bar for the rest.

INDX never ending delays really have me looking at the U1 tbh.

An AMS can be useful for a tool-changer too: automatic material changes, running leftovers and backup roll loading. If I had a tool-changer, I would still want to have one or possibly two AMS-fed tools.

Having an AMS also lets you load different sets of colors for different parts of the print. Instead of switching filaments every layer, you can go 100+ layers between filament changes. The boots of your character model could likely benefit from having a different color palette from the character's head and chest.

I agree with pretty much everything you are saying here. I can't see using my AMS's for multi colour printing any longer now that I have the Creator 5. AMS is good for holding various types of filaments so they are "ready to go" for single colour prints. Single nozzle printers will always have a place for prototyping and manufacturing multiple instances of the same part. Excited for the future of multi-tool printers for sure. Great video as always!

I've had the snapmaker u1 for quite some time now over 3k hours no issues it's been such a great printer tbh, I'm personally hoping to see a few more heads added to the future models

I've had a R1 trident kit sitting for a year that I haven't had a chance to build. Looking forward to all the tool changer options with R2 being designed to be able to offset the bed
