  If a landlord suddenly said I couldn't have anyone "sleepover" that night, I would immediately have someone come over. Because why TF do you want to ensure that I'm 100% alone that night? Nah my brain's too sus for that, I'd think he was trying to creep on me and take advantage of the fact that he knows I'm home alone.

  It’s a smart idea to pepper spray a landlord who walks in unannounced. They have to get negative repercussions for crossing boundaries, especially illegal ones.

  I’m lucky because my landlord is super good. Didn’t know my rent payments weren’t going through for several months and instead of punishing me when she didn’t notice right away either, she lowered my rent only on her but and took &nbsp;the same amount until it was paid off then put my rent back to normal on her end so I wasn’t actually effected at all. &nbsp;She really came in clutch for me, and I appreciate the fuck out of her.

  My housemate in grad school caught my landlord standing in my bedroom door, watching me sleep. And then he SUED ME for reporting him to the cops, breaking my lease and RUNNING from that house. 10 or 15 years later, &nbsp;got a registered letter in the mail informing me that the house was found to have lead paint and undisclosed asbestos.
