You know what I love about Swisher? I 've never seen anyone more grateful to be a major league baseball player.

I luv how Swish acknowledged the name on the front of the shirt is way more important than the name on the back.
Today’s athletes all about themselves and their brand

I was told that we can thank DJ’s parents for his wonderful character and sportsmanship. Who told me? The mother of DJ’s best friend growing up in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Where? Was sitting beside the lady on a flight and she started the conversation on baseball. Amazing coincidence. I had been asked who my favorite player was and I responded, “Derek Jeter.” Conversation just blossomed from there. Yes, amazing.

Not a Jeter or even a Yankees fan, but it's tragic that all these NON-players want to hate on Jeter and go on and on about him being overrated and he wasn't that great, etc.

Complete nonsense. He was a beast, end of conversation.

Feel like Jeter was the Kobe of baseball growing up, and this is coming from a mets & knicks fan.

This is why I ignore all the Jeter haters who harp on his defensive shortcomings, act like his offense was basically nothing special for any regular all star, and that the only reason people talk about him is because he happened to play for the Yankees. He was a winner and it permeated throughout the club. It may not show up on stat sheet but he was a class act.
