  I am an English teacher in Brazil and trust me, things like that happen to us. I had a student who called me in the middle of the night telling me he was about to commit suicide but because he thought his life was worthless. So I said to him: _ That&apos;s ok, and I will respect you but, if you do that, please say that in English otherwise I will think my career is also worthless and all my dedication was meaningless. And he said it in English.... My life is worthless. I was like. Well, at least you will die knowing something but, can you tell me what do you really want from life... in English? He said: _ I want to be happy. I told him:_ GREAT!!! This the seed of your life, you just need to water it everyday by saying... I AM HAPPY, and everything will be all right. Nowadays he is doing very well, he&apos;s a respected engineer, he has his own family and he knows... In the moment when you plant a seed you must water it every single day. &nbsp; :)

  Reading the comments is more revealing than watching the film.<br>Most people see teaching or friendship.<br>I see guilt and a man trying to buy redemption.<br>Some commenters seem to identify with the teacher, yet sound closer to the student — looking for the same kind of validation.<br>Interesting how we rarely watch the same movie.

  I am an English instructor from the US. I used this film as a listening/watching practice. My students saw themselves in the movie. They laughed at Jin&apos;s mistakes in English &nbsp;at first, but they burst to tears at the end of the movie. Thank you for a beautiful work. Life is not easy, but teaching is a rewarding job.

  Hi, I am an English teacher too. I&apos;m from Ukraine. Teaching is self-giving, I mean if you are a teacher, you share a part of your knowledge, your heart and soul with your student. I have a private English school in Ukraine. It&apos;s the most difficult time because of the War. We are teaching in &quot;strange&quot; situations like no light, sirens... We are feeling scared, exhausted, disappointed and still we teach. This is the key. <br>Every time we have announcement about new soldier died from our town it is so difficult to cheer up students, to be energetic, to teach...<br>I compare a teacher with a bucket, if you are empty, you can&apos;t give.

  I don’t get it &nbsp;why so many people commenting- inspiring, courageous, powerful. This is about a hit and run accident. He confessed but the ending was a messy one. What happened in the end?

  I am an English teacher from India. It is always a joy when you hear the excitement in your students&apos; voice when they know they&apos;ve got something right, after having said it wrong for the longest time. Every small win feels like a major victory.
