Not me misreading the title as "12V HPWR" and being very, very confused that Alec is about to talk about graphics cards for an hour.

Can confirm that almost every Lowe's appliance order is heartburn and headache combined.

I'm in awe of the amount of restraint it must have took to relegate the Lowe's nightmare story to the end of the second channel video rather than the beginning of the main channel video.

As others have said, it's all industries that are facing similar issues. The problem is people are being removed from the equation. Everywhere is understaffed and everyone is overworked. Machines can handle the routine well enough but if an error or exception happens, there is no manpower to take ownership to solve it, they're too underwater with the routine and the routine is what is watched and tracked. No one gets praised for finding a water heater, everyone gets punished if a truck is a few minutes late.

A kneecapped customer service is by design. To a short-sighted mind it doesn't make the company money, and that's all it's about.

I still have a vendetta with Lowe's over a dryer that apparently disappeared into thin air while being shipped to my house a few years back. My customer service representatives were also lovely, but completely unable to help me. Interesting to know that nothing has changed.

I used to work for Lowe's. None of this saga surprises me in the slightest because during the time I was there the cost cutting measures WHILE SCREAMING RECORD PROFITS FROM THE ROOFTOPS was appalling:
They shifted to third party delivery drivers trying to cash in on that whole amazon "delivery" scam system and suddenly after years of praise things were being refused left and right for damage, comps had to be made because someone left a pee bottle in the appliances WHICH WERE ONLY UNBOXED ON THE DELIVERY TRUCK.

The backrooms manager was no longer allowed to call the distribution center about when the store's regular delivery/pickups would be and instead he had to have one of the assistant managers/store manager make the call which resulted in the same and worse incidents then what you experienced.

When I managed part of the distribution warehouse the entire time it was about doing better than last year with the federally mandated minimums for safety and fielding the resulting complaints from the stores.

All in all once again profits over people.

“Twelve amps? You can’t run a vacuum cleaner on twelve amps, John!”

As a former Lowe's employee, I can confirm that this is the norm. We had problems like this left and right, and I often had to fight to get managers to give any time toward solving the customer issues. Nowadays, Lowe's is running everything on bare-bones skeleton crews that only serve to further harm the customer experience, and they will continue to do so until it impacts their bottom line. Not the store's bottom line, mind, but the CEO's - it's his strategy for drawing more blood from the stone that is his company, after they've already cannibalized it in other ways. Ellison is going to make his money padding numbers as long as he can before bailing for a new company to feed on, as that's been his MO.

Lowe’s doesn’t care about anything except installing Flock cameras at every store
