Can God Trust You? | Tim Timberlake

Series Title : Carried By The Wind Message Title : Can God Trust You? Scripture : Acts 8:18-24 DESCRIPTION Can God trust you with influence, resources, opportunities, and spiritual gifts? In this powerful message from Acts 8, we examine the story of Simon the Sorcerer and discover the difference between pursuing God's power and pursuing God's presence. Through Simon's desire to purchase what only God can give, we are challenged to examine our motives, surrender our entitlement, and pursue genuine intimacy with Jesus. This message confronts the modern temptation to seek influence without obedience, blessing without transformation, and power without surrender. God isn't looking for people who simply want what He can do—He's looking for people who want Him. Whether you're struggling with comparison, chasing success, seeking promotion, or longing for a deeper relationship with God, this message will challenge and encourage you to ask one life-changing question: Can God trust you? KEY TIMESTAMPS 04:15 - Power vs Presence: What Are You Really Pursuing? 13:40 - Some People Want Jesus Useful, Not Lord 28:20 - You Cannot Impress God With Sacrifices He Gave You Strength to Make 42:10 - Can God Trust You? The Ultimate Question KEY TAKEAWAYS God desires intimacy before influence. The goal of following Jesus is not platform, power, or recognition—it's relationship. You cannot purchase what only surrender can produce. God's gifts are received through grace, not earned through manipulation or performance. Entitlement seeks God's hand; intimacy seeks God's heart. Mature faith moves beyond "give me" prayers and embraces "make me" prayers. Success is not a substitute for holiness. Crowds may celebrate your gifts, but God examines your motives. God can trust people who value His presence more than His blessings. When Jesus becomes enough, God can trust you with more. FINAL THOUGHT The greatest blessing God can give you is not influence, success, or possessions—it's His presence. When Jesus becomes your highest pursuit, you'll discover that everything you've been searching for is already found in Him.
