God, I miss this era of mid-budget movies so much

All it took was Disney to learn they could release PG-13 movies themselves to kill off both Hollywood AND Touchstone.

The advice to not rely on "high cost, high risk projects" is something that modern Disney def needs to do.

And now a days, Disney is mostly a conglomerate that just buys out studios, takes over all the titles and shells out sequels-galore with barely any originality.

When you buy out the competition, creativity suffers.

Seeing the Touchstone and Hollywood Pictures logos gives me such nostalgia. So many childhood memories, some of my favorite movies

Katzenberg was really ahead of the curve on trying to warn Disney not to over-rely on expensive blockbusters 😮‍💨😮‍💨

The problem today is that films are either super high budget ips or super low budget indie films.
It’s such a boring landscape out there right now.
I just wanna see mid budget studio films again, they are so cozy and actually feel real.
The film industry is never gonna listen to what people actually want to see though.

I was an Usher at a movie theater from 1988-1993...and I tell you: that was the true golden age of cinema. Siskle and Ebert were regulars at our place!

“Blood In Blood Out” may have been a flop when it was released but over 30 years later it is still a cult classic in the Latino community, especially here in Los Angeles.
