"What did the crying child see" I think it's as simple as he either saw someone putting on a springlock suit normally, or more likely the room with the disassembled animatronics. I think people underestimate either of those being grossly traumatic for a young boy who loves these characters. From his perspective, he's either seen his best friends eat a man alive, or saw his best friends' corpses torn apart and on display. I think both would be traumatizing enough to create such a deep fear, one that leads to your brother often picking on you about it.

I really do think what fnaf 4 was trying to communicate was that foxy bro was the night guard in fnaf 1-3. The nighttime segments aren’t the crying child’s nightmares in his coma, theyre foxy bros nightmares based off his guilt and his time working the night shift. That’s why you hear the fnaf phone calls and other weird things during the fnaf 4 nights. That’s what 4 games one story means, the same protagonist behind all 4 games is foxy bro. Fnaf 4 isn’t about the crying child, it’s the night guards backstory. We know Scot clarifies previous mistakes by the community in the next game. What does sister location introduce into the story? The Afton family, with Micheal afton being the crying child’s brother and the main character in previous fnaf games.

What’s in the box? Simple. It was a a foxy mask, locked away a a symbol of foxy bro’a guilt.

It's massive. My hands can't even fit around it, that's how enormous it is.

so I think the thing CC saw "in the shadows" is what you said, the tuft of something in the suit, but also his dad getting an employee suited up by putting the head on them. If CC saw someone, especially his dad, doing what looked like shoving someone into an animatronic suit and then he gets locked in the back room with the same suit with some weird tufts coming out of it, I could see that being pretty traumatizing for a young child.

Games like FNAF 4 are the reason story writers need outlines and lore bibles. Scott Cawthon treated the first four games as a puzzle, literally ending with a locked box, before he pivoted to the "sci-fi era" of FNAF in Sister Location. While there's certainly an element of making it up as one goes, that's an excuse I find flimsy. At one point the story was, truly, solvable. How all the pieces fit together should have been written down and - imho - published after a certain amount of time. Nowadays FNAF is just a different beast altogether, and I honestly feel like we're overdue for a simple explanation on what was intended with these first four games, without all the additional stuff from after.

i always hate the "bite of 83 was a springlock failure!!" thing. no, it clearly wasn't, the suit was in animatronic mode, it is physically impossible for the springlocks to suddenly move into animatronic mode when there's number 1, nobody wearing it, and 2, when it's already in said mode WHILE PERFORMING!

31:45 I think the reason he's yelling isn't necessarily that he's afraid of the closet more, but he is in a locked room, when you're in a closed room you tend to yell super loud for others to hear you through the door/walls, so he might just be trying to be heard, he's not yelling when he's scared because the bullies are right next to him.

Your interpretation of what was in the box is probably the best one I’ve seen. Really good video.
