Once again, your amazing video gives us such a beautiful glimpse into Thai communities and traditions. Little by little, it feels like we’re getting to know Thailand from the inside, through your lens. Great job!

Thank you Jill & Justin for showing us a very interesting tradition and skills from long ago up until present time. As a Thai person I have never even thought about the bowl that the monk carries around or where they come from or the history behind it until now. Respect to the people that make those bowl and keep the old tradition and skills going from generation to generation. Such a shame that they don't get highlight in the public eyes more especially in this digital era that possibly bring them more business and to improve their income too. 🙏🙏🙏

Very interesting video about how the metal bowls are made and their use..when I saw the lady hammering away on the metal it reminded me of my metalwork lessons at school at which by the way I was useless but so was the teacher..
Ban Bat will certainly be worth a visit...a very different side of life in Thailand..I've put it on my to do list.
Thankyou..

I have two singing bowls that I play before meditation. The first one I bought from a shop in Lancashire. It was handmade in Nepal and the shop owner travels to Nepal to personally choose them. The second one I brought in Koh Chang from a little shop that sells bowls and wall hangings. It’s an antique singing bowl probably came from a temple. I think about all the prayers that were said by previous monks that played it. They have a special energy. Singing bowls have different tones similar to our music chords such as C. Your video made me shed a tear watching those kind, honest people. Good job I’m not planning to visit Bangkok as I would have probably bought half the shop and survived on rice for the rest of my holiday 😂xx
