  I've met African missionaries who lived in places where natives could eat elephant, and they have claimed that the trunk meat was excellent. One told me about when he was a child that his missionary father would get trunk steaks from villagers, and he said it would be a round steak the size of the plate, but with two holes, where his mother would put the sides (e.g., mashed potatoes and peas)!

  Oh hey, I just did a report on this for a biotech class. Funny to see food theory talk about it. Its crazy how this process works, infact the company that made the meatball actually said they planned to clone dodo meat, but we haven't sequenced the genome properly yet

  Based on your deductive descriptions of likely flavor elements, Id bet Mammoth would be mos similar in flavor to wild boar...which is rich, earthy, and so pungent that even frozen boar meat will scent up your freezer.  Also delicious.

  Food Theory Idea: <br><br>Does thinking of food you like actually make you more hungry? (even after you eat)<br><br>This might also explain why kids suddenly get more hungry if they are offered dessert after not finishing their food.
