isn't the TXV supposed to automatically adjust the amount of refrigerant passing through by sensing the refrigerant temperature at the output of the evaporator coil?

If you have to adjust the TXV to solve an issue that wasn't there before with similar settings I would say the TXV is faulty or you possibly miss something else (blockage around inlet TXV?) and are solving a problem by offsetting your TXV. (P.S. I sailed on he same vessel as you in 2009 - Maersk Salalah.)

thank you for ur time to show us problems of recarding ac and provision systems on board. the line after the expansion valve can be icy but when the TEV is icy this means that a sudden drop of pressure happens before the TEV which can be caused if the TEV filter is dirty.

Very good video. For defrosting vegetable room better disconnect power supply for solenoid valve and keep running fan for 2-3 hours- also very good way.

Valve looks like there is a restriction. Also the type of frost build up on coil indicates lack of defrost and high humidity entering walk-in box
