Harrison bought his acoustic guitars at Mandolin Brothers on Staten Island. He even bought a property nearby to be comfortable during his stays. He had Matt Umanov, in Greenwich Village, repair his guitars.

George was never one of the greatest guitarists of his generation. A competent guitarist and probably the most popular, and famous, but not the greatest. There is nothing that George could have played at that time in that shop that would have impressed an alleged classically trained guitarist snob.
