I wish Dr. Milteer would have mentioned more information about the Weavers. Willis and Sally Weaver had at least 8 children, 4 of which graduated from Hampton Normal and Agricultural Institute, first of which graduated in the first graduating class of 1871 and the others were graduated by 1877. Also, one of these graduates, David Douglas Weaver married abolitionist Frederick Douglass's first grand child. Willis son, William B. Weaver, help to found the first black school in Gloucester County, Virginia and started an orphanage for black children in Hampton Virginia. And that's just a little information of their achievements.

Wow Mary Dove 🕊️ is my ancestor. The Carters, Moore, Dudley, Perkins, George , Fenners, Becton, and Godettes. I’m trying to tie the information to a close . I just need a few more leads. I thought 💭 20 years ago that North Harlowe Newbern North Carolina was my starting point. Later own I see that it was not. If you have a few pointers I will be glad to have them . Thanking you in advance. For any information you may have. I purchased one of your books. I was also researching the Mitchell , Saunders weaver and Parker family from Bertie county North Carolina.The Dudley family is the hardest to find and Slade family .
