This is the era they blew Led Zep off the stage literally at Merriweather Post Pavilion 1969. Robert Plant said The Who was the best live band he ever saw.

The Who was incredible! There will never be another group like them! It warms my heart to see a young woman discover them and fully appreciate them all these years later.

At their prime, nobody could approach The Who live. Pure power & virtuosity & showmanship onstage. Monster Rock!

I remember hearing somewhere that John Entwistle always looks like the cool babysitter watching over 3 kids with ADHD

This was the Who at their peak. Uncontrollable drive held together with superb musicianship. For a time they were the best, no one else came close. Keith was the gold standard for drummers despite being unstable and self-destructive, a wild man on drums and in life. Roger really came into his own around this time as a first-rate singer - not just a screamer. A legit tough guy. Nobody messed with Roger. Pete was an intellectual and world-class songwriter. John - Thunder Fingers - was one of the most inventive bass players who ever lived. The Who spoke to me as a kid growing up. The vacuum left by their passing has never been filled

I saw The Who perform this live in 1970. They are my favorite live band.

Like John's bass? Try listening to the "The Real Me" from the Quadrophenia album. He shines in this one .... Cheers

Love seeing a pretty young lady enjoying and appreciating the rock n roll I grew up with. Class of 74.

Only the Who could do a guitar solo at the same time as a bass solo and a drum solo 😂
