Hey lovely ones, sadly this video isn't performing too well at the moment so I'm using this as a fun opportunity to A/B test some slightly sillier video titles and see how they do since I really had a lot of (frustrating) fun making this video. Let me know which one(s) you see or prefer! :)

Also, since views have been down all over Youtube at the moment, it can really help if you want to share any of my videos on social media / with your friends or just leave a like or comment for support ❤ Thank you all, I appreciate you!

"He threw up his hands so quicky that his fingers, if they had been birds, would have broken in the violence." This might be the most baffling simile I have ever heard. This has fully taken me out of the book and has me scratching my head in bewilderment. I can see a world where broken birds could be a recurring motif in this book, but this sentence is just so bizarrely constructed.

"A whisper, so quiet the cerebellum wouldn't acknowledge its receipt."
squints the cerebellum, the part of the brain that famously coordinates movement and balance? was that the best part of the brain or indeed sensory apparatus to choose to hear a sound?

I’m glad I’m not the only one who gets worked up more by stories with potential that they don’t meet than ones that are just meh.

The protagonist falling in love with a hot, rich alpha gigachad chud is every romantasy book ever written lol.

You're telling me a bunch of rich foreigners burned down a ancient landmark and they just got off scott free? No investigation from the authorities, no blow back from the community, no nothing? I find that really hard to believe.
On top of everything else, that just feels like such a lazy conclusion.

Can't believe there was such a interesting Chekhov's gun with the painting, probably a depiction of the Hyakki Yagyō(Night Parade of One Hundred Demons) and the one hundred ghost stories with the candles. And the Author did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING with it. What a WASTE, was hoping that when the dysfunctional scooby gang return there the painting was empty and the yokai on it had started to recreate the group's stories across the mansion or something of the sort.

I HATED this book. I really liked her other novella "The Salt Grows Heavy". I knew by page 5 I was not going to like "Nothing But Blackened Teeth", but I wanted to finish because it was so short. The writing was amateurish to me and it fell flat. Cassandra Khaw's verbose language did add to TSGH's atmosphere (though a little tiresome sometimes) but alongside the simplistic characters kind of pmo.

wow, that part about SAing the half dead guy is incredibly disgusting, especially since it’s not treated with the gravity it deserves

i feel like so many new authors would solve a lot of their problems (like a jarring difference in dialogue and narration like rachel said) if they just wrote in third person instead of first

missed potential to have Talia think that Cat is jealous because she’s still in love with Faze but actually make that throwaway bisexual line matter and have Cat be in love with Talia.
