An Ex-Marine Executed in His Own Bedroom | Homicide: Hours To Kill

Nick Morales thought he was safe inside his own home. Instead, the former Marine became the victim of one of the most meticulously planned murders detectives had ever investigated. Just before dawn, a masked killer climbed onto the roof, fired through a bedroom window using a suppressed .45 caliber handgun, then entered the house to make sure the job was finished. Eight bullets struck Nick before the killer carefully cleaned the scene and disappeared without anyone hearing a single gunshot. With almost no eyewitnesses and multiple suspects—including angry coworkers, jealous ex-lovers, and a complicated love triangle—detectives painstakingly reconstruct Nick's final 24 hours. Rare ammunition, hidden text messages, DNA evidence, blood left by the killer, and one overlooked detail about a family pit bull slowly expose an elaborate assassination plot built on obsession, envy, and revenge. As the investigation unfolds, every clue points toward a shocking truth: this wasn't a crime of passion—it was a calculated execution months in the making. If you enjoy true crime documentaries, homicide investigations, criminal psychology, forensic evidence, police interrogations, and real murder cases solved through meticulous detective work, this episode delivers one of the most compelling investigations ever featured.
