Great video, thank you very much for making this. 26 and just left my dead end corporate grad job. Ready to do something more with my life. Wishing you all the best.

I joined at 26 as an aircraft mechanic, after 7 years I was commisioned into the Engineer branch. Left last year after 26 years at the rank of Squadron Leader. The youngest in my intake was 16 and the oldest 30. The RAF is not for everyone and there is no shame in trying then deciding it is not for you. However, if you give it your all you will be rewarded with a brilliant career and exceptional training oppertunities. I got a BSc(Hons), Post Grad Cert x 2 and even my HGV Class 1 all for free.

33 and just applied to join as a Control Officer. Always my dream as a child to join the RAF but never had the commitment.

Sick of burning out, bouncing from jobs every few years that I don't really enjoy. I need a purpose, something worth doing and the opportunity to truly develop a life long career.

Be a massive change but excited to start this new journey! Solid video and insights. :)

Literally the first few seconds of your video describing your situation and relating hard. I have a PhD in a STEM field and simply cannot get a job. I considered doing what you mentioned, sticking it out in a Tesco for 2 years while I search for the kind of job I really want, but I just can't do it. I need to be doing something worthwhile, not just stacking shelves while I wait for someone to give me a chance.

I'm 32 and going through the recruitment process for the Cyberspace Communications Specialist role.

i'm in such a limbo. I've been thinking about this for the last 9/12 months. I'm sick of my office job. I feel like my talent is being wasted behind a computer, i want to push my body to the limits! I want to improve so much as a person; I'm only 29! This video is really helpful!

Cheers for the video, brother, very insightful. Just turned 31 myself and going through the recruitment process for an electrician role. Looking forward to this next adventure!

I can imagine joining later in life as an OR is much harder than joining as an Officer in terms of phase 1. I know some Officers are absolute baggage, but being surrounded by a bunch of 16-20 year olds must be quite hard for someone who’s actually been out in the big bad world.

Out of interest, can I bring a voice recorder, as I know for a fact I will not remember people's names and will miss small instructions
