  Council (879-880 AD) was attended by the Papal legates, who had brought with them a gift from the Pope to the Bishop of Constantinople - a pallium.   Noah is so wrapped up in neo-thomist terminology that he doesn&apos;t even realize &quot;absolutely distinct&quot; might mean something different to an Orthodox person... so much so that he actually assumed David was proclaiming heresy... yet when roman catholic DOGMA requires submission to the pope &quot;ABSOLUTELY&quot; for salvation, suddenly the term has many meanings and can be used colloquially, so moslems can qualify

  I must say, I love both people here as an Eastern Orthodox Catechumen and thank you for this formal debate about the Filioque and the logic behind both point of view since it helped me understand both sides from their own point of view. I, as a catechumen, am open-minded about Catholicism but I believe, with all due respect, that the Orthodox view makes more sense to me.<br><br>Love to both David and Noah, God bless you both. 🙏🏻

  TLDR; The filioque breaks the Trinity by flipping the roles, making the Holy Spirit lacking in something required for Divine personhood that both the Father and Son share. The filioque logically has to result in some dyadic god with a limited power. The filioque was an addition to the creed outside of an ecumenical synod, the Photian schism refutes Rome&apos;s claims, filioque was no where seen in the early Church Fathers who taught Monarchical Trinitarianism, after the Great Schism Rome would prove the Orthodox right by dogmatizing the contradiction of double hypostatic procession, the heresy that the Holy Spirit has 2 causations. This is their confession of faith at their council in Florance. It is another one of Rome&apos;s incoherent heresies and clearly begets rotten fruits in praxis. <br> <br>Read John 15:26. Jesus Christ our Lord directly refutes double hypostatic procession and the filioque.
