  Five months are spent at the Discovery Challenge Academy, which welcomes 125 troubled adolescents every year. The first two weeks are the hardest. Everything is strictly regimented: 10 minutes to eat, 2 minutes to shower, 10 seconds to put on socks. There are 50 beds per dormitory and even going to the bathroom requires permission. Phones, TVs and the internet are all banned, as is seeing family during the first three months.<br>Who are these young people? How did they get there and what trials and challenges will they have to overcome?

  imagine going in and everyone already has a criminal history and you got sent for being asocial. Great intentions from the mom but seemed to me like she needed some form of therapy along with her kid, i&apos;m guessing he got back home and nothing changed so he didn&apos;t bother changing either.

  Oh wow! That Filipino sergeant there is too nice teaching how a salute is done. The way he calmly speaks to those kids is so impressive. &nbsp;Giving orders strictly but doesn’t have to be mean.

  Thats sad that Chyann went back to crime, &nbsp;she was so excited to become a police officer. &nbsp;I hope the other girl with the daughter stays on the straight and narrow, she could even join the actual military

  It&apos;s too bad Cheyenne fell back to her old ways.<br>I don’t think Nicholas is on the spectrum, I think his playing games and isolating himself is a coping mechanism that he is used to.<br>Marisol may not have gotten housing and is living in hotels but she is trying, and I hope it works for her.<br>I think the reason this program has such a high number of failure is because the kids are going right back to the situation that sent them to camp in the first place.<br>There should be some kind of after camp support for the kids.

  My heart breaks for that young mum. She is still a child and needs love and support for herself and baby not a boot camp 🤯🤯🤯🤯 I wish the world was kind to her ❤️

  Y’all are so fast to respond when y’all have no experience on the topic. I went to one of these schools because I wasn’t going to graduate. It taught me things about myself that would have taken years on my own. I pulled my head out of my backside and ended up graduating a whole year early ahead of my peers. No one is FORCED to go. It’s all volunteer. They will literally make you leave if you say you don’t want to be there. I went 10 years ago and still talk to the people I met. It’s a great program that I wish more people knew about.
