  1948. &nbsp;The war has been over for three years and dad has been home for two. &nbsp;He is much better now, he doesn&apos;t sleep soundly, but he doesn&apos;t wake up in the middle of the night yelling and head to the bathroom to cry. &nbsp;He got a letter from a buddy of his and he read it and re-read it and he laughed each time. &nbsp;I think he is going to be okay.

  Picture this: It’s 1948, and you are an 8 year old kid. It’s the first day of school, and you are psyched. You’ve just come back home from school, and as the bus drops you off, you come to your big beautiful house and you smell your mom’s apple pie coming from the windowsill, as music is playing in the background. You know what is waiting for you, as a big smile crosses your face and you knock on the door, and wait for a while. Then Mom opens the door, a big, beaming smile on her face, and she then greets you and gives you a big hug. You embrace her, and then excitedly tell her about your day at school, all the friends you’ve made, grumbling about homework, the usual. Everything feels great and okay with the world.

  My old man used to tell me how he used to listen to the radio as a kid. He was born in 1930 and a radio was a luxury for some families.

  My cat is cuddled up to me while we listen to this. &nbsp;Am having very fond memories of my mum and dad. &nbsp;They sure had beautiful music back then. &nbsp; Thank you. 🩷💚💜
