Thanks to Mr. Z for stepping in to do the narration while I lost my voice!

It's refreshing to hear Mr. Z's voice in an alt history video.

Now I'm just picturing the pointing Spider-man meme with the two U.S.A's.
The United States of America and the United States of Austria respectedly.

One big problem with Austria-Hungary was that it was the worst of both worlds. For the most part it was more like a duel protectorate than a duel empire due to both having a united foreign policy and a shared military (though each half tended to prefer to focus on its own militaries and only begrudgingly supported the shared one) and such, but in most ways internally completely seperate countries (hell, the citizen of one half was legally considered a foreigner in the other, and could not travel between them without permission, for example). An actual federal model like in Germany, Australia, or the US would have been a much better mix of autonomy and central authority in appropriate and coherent ways instead would have certainly helped in keeping the empire alive over an Austria-Hungary style “crowns” situation.

I would love to see a part 2 to this scenario, not only for Monsieur Z to return to alternate history, but to see if the Great Depression is as great or if it exists at all. Maybe Fascist France? No ruined Germany for a fascist to take over could lead to them going to France. OR commie France. Russia didnt fall, nor dod germany entertain the thought, so maybe the commies go west instead of east.
