My brother was diagnosed with kidney cancer in his 40s. He never smoked or drank alcohol. He used to be athletic and run marathons. Treatment failed for him, and he died

Here’s a panel everyone should see : Siddhartha Mukherjee Lou Cantley Thomas Siefried Dennis Slayman Steven Rosenberg and Demis Hassabis. Just getting these people together would probably lead to some spectacular research to cure.

Diabetics who take metformin have less cancer and they are studying metformin for longevity and there was one women i saw on here,i think she had a rare cancer and her doctor prescribed metformin and put the cancer in remission.I think everyone should be taking it for prevention.

Cancer is such a complex topic to tackle, so I really appreciate how the panel was able to explain things generally in a way that was easy to digest.

May I ask if anyone at the institute has looked at or understands the metabolic model of cancer as described by Dr Thomas Seyfried and or the work of Dr William Makis in Canada, reporting excellent results with a wide range of cancers including glioblastoma & breast cancers?

As someone with myeloma, a blood cancer, I’ve learned a lot about the complexities of just this one type of cancer. Whilst there are some great advances, to my mind the advances only go to show how difficult finding a cure is. The more we know, the more we learn how complex it is.

The intricate link between nerves, receptors, and cell proliferation is an active area of cancer research. The relationship between nerve issues, cell receptors, and overgrowth is dynamic and bidirectional. Nerve damage or dysfunction can initiate a cascade of signaling changes that alter receptor activity on target cells. This can lead to denervation supersensitivity, altered chemical signaling, and inflammation, all of which can contribute to abnormal cellular behavior, including overgrowth.
