I’ve carried a Tinker every day for almost 40 years. Never felt like I wasted my money.

If you are a fan of the nail cleaner, why don't you use it before making the video? 😄

I've carried a classic for 20 years (and I've only ever bought one), I use it around 10 times a day, every day... I'm pretty sure I didn't waste money

When I carry a SAK I usually carry a Climber. While I own a Compact, I have no use for the nail file, or the pen. A Climber with regular scales is barely any thicker than a Compact with it's plus scales. The main reason I prefer the Climber however, is that the opener layer is just better than the combo tool. The bottle opener is about the same for opening bottles, but the dedicated one is a bit thicker and better if you need to scrape or pry with it. While I like that style of pull cutting combination can opener/bottle opener on a Leatherman, the Victorinox combo tool doesn't have as large of a bite meaning it takes longer and is more work to open a can. It also can't really slice through the can like the sharper Leatherman and dedicated can openers can. That ability to slice means the dedicated Vixtorinox can opener can be set in the can and pushed around without needing to make multiple bites which is much faster and easier. It's also a much better phillips screwdriver than the combo tool, in fact it's so good that I don't worry about models with the phillips on the back any more. If the dedicated can opener can't undo a phillips screw then it's unlikely that a back screwdriver can, even the inline screwdriver isn't that much better than just using the dedicated can opener. If you can't get it with the can opener you basically need a real screwdriver. It makes a decent scraper and package opener as well. I know people love the Compact, but I really see it as a side grade at best when compared to the Climber.

I disagree agreeably. My father gave me my huntsman for my 10th birthday. I’m now hurtling towards 54, and it’s still going strong. It’s been a very faithful companion.

The Compact is the best Swiss Army Knife, I carry it almost all the time. The Rambler lives on my keychain, I bought it because the knife blade is opposite the key ring and I always use a mini “S” carabiner to make it removable. I also use the O-light Ir2 on a mini “S” carabiner (unrelated sorry) The micro Phillips opens a lot of electronics battery doors which is why I will always keep it. The one handed Trekker would be my favorite if the knife blade was not part serrated and the Phillips would flip out from the end, not a back tool. Nice video!

I also wanted to add that if you guys who love SAKs have never checked out the Roxon Flex and Flex Companion, please do so. It's like having a SAK but you can interchange the tools in seconds and set them up however you want them.

Nice to see the Ranger getting a shout out, I did the same by adding plus scales, But I do have the small screwdriver fitted instead of fire lint. Put a pocket hook on it and it will be a great pocket carry.
