  Find a song with a good amount of sub bass. &nbsp;Bring it to your daw, find the tempo, loop 2 bars where the bass is good, move around the room….

  I ignore all these rules and also follow them. Measurements followed by listening tests have lead me down the right path over time

  Well put! 50% lengthways and height are where strong modes are, so having monitors 40% (average) and listening position 60% (average) from the front wall, is a good rule of thumb to keep yourself or your sound source sitting in modal zones, which reduces reflections and in turn the intesity of these modes.

  Great explanation! I agree 90 %, while I think than it&apos;s not where the low-end sound balanced (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYHFHDFFhpY&amp;t=683">11:23</a>), but where it sounds correct, which matters.

  nice one. after going down the rabbithole of fixing bass problems i decided to just put my table back where the room sounds best. so i inadvertently used some of your bass hunter technique, and i can recommend it!

  Would a listening test like this work better by playing some sustained synth notes, like a basic sine wave, at various low end frequencies, say E0 (20.6Hz) through E2 (82.4Hz)? Might be easier to detect changes as you move around when there is a constant level, same frequency, sound emitting.

  Brilliant video. Super helpful! You talk about feeling bass in stomach vs chest. I find this very intuitive - and it’s how I teach eqing. Using muscle memory to remember where you feel different frequencies in your body and using that to inform decisions. However I’ve been getting SO much push back online saying this is rubbish. And I must admit I can’t find any literature on the subject… do you know of any? Thanks
