If a chainsaw is easy to start it’s a good saw regardless of the breed. 🙂

I enjoyed seeing both father and Son talk passionately about chainsaws👍🏻 chainsaws> outdoors> being active> sharing a common interest. That’s what it’s all about fellas.

I definitely prefer husky xp line saws over stihl. 15 years tree falling in Alaska here. Only bad part is the support for stores and availability for husky sucks in the US now days. Stihl is everywhere

Both are good saws. Husky runs smoother, husky is heavier, husky usually has more CCs, husky cheaper price wise, husky has good air intake also. I run all stihl and have great success with them.

I like those orange plastic Stihl file handles. They lock onto the tang on a file really well and fit my hand nicely in use.

35 year old Stihl 038av. 72 cc. Been to Hell and back. Still going strong. Had buy a carb(rebuilds weren’t working anymore), replaced plastic choke/throttle linkages last year. That’s it over the years other than wear items.

Husky 592 is my favorite felling saw. The Echo 2511t is usually my choice for a trim saw.

Hey guys, enjoyed hearing your experiences and perspectives about the 2 brands. Ignore me if I'm wrong, its hard to tell for sure from the video--but the rakers/depth gauges on that chain look untouched, compared to how much that chain has been sharpened. The cutters on a chain are angled downwards, so as you sharpen over time the cutters are gradually lowered. The depth gauges then need to be filed down occasionally to match the new height of the cutters, otherwise the chain will cut much less than it should. You can use a flat file and a depth gauge tool to get the correct height, but if you want ease and to save time, Stihl sells a 2-in1 sharpener that sharpens the cutters and also files the depth gauges to the correct height at the same time. It also positions the round file to prevent over-cutting the gullet and the handles help keep the proper angle when sharpening. Hand filing like you are doing is difficult, I do this professionally and couple old school guys still do it that way but almost everyone else uses the 2-in1 because its easier and much faster to get a super sharp chain. Wish you guys the best, cheers from the Yankee west coast.

My first saw was a 254xp in Scotland, flogged it hard. Both great brands and I have had 50 models over the years. My first in Australia was a 55. I recently sold my 372xp, didn't want to, was selling my 572xp, but the 372xp was what the bloke really wanted. One of the finest saws ever built. I have a 395xp, more economical and comfortable at ripping posts, than my MS660. Only gripe is that chain adjuster. The 572xp is still a good saw. I did have an MS880, but that was a brute with a 6ft bar, motorbike without a kickstart. I have to admit, I would like to try the MS462, MS500i and the New 592xp.
