Heyo everyone, this video has been a while in the making (as are a lot of history focussed videos) unfortunately it doesn’t seem like this video has hit sub boxes.

So if you know anyone that wants 33 minutes of Matrox action send them a link and let them know it’s out.

Hope you all enjoy!

Just imagine if the 360 was Matrox based..it would have made later games look so much better without LOD degredation and lack of AA later on..the driver features are truly impressive.

FINALLY a YouTuber that understands Vista was... Fine. Too many OEM pcs came with Vista and too lite ram or budget grade hdd and igp with single channel ram. For me? On my pentium D 920 and 2gb dual channel ddr2 with a 7200rpm western digital hdd and 256mb 8600gt, Vista was totally fine. Manually installed dx6.1,7,8.1 9.0,9.0abcd, and net 2.0,3.5,4.0 and had rock solid compatibility with games!

Back in the day, nvidia and ATI would do tricks where they wouldn't use all the bits they were supposed to. This caused things to look not so good, but the FPS were really good. Even the DAC's were just "good enough" to save money. The Voodoo3 was basically a 16-bit card even though you could set windows to the higher modes. Image quality was scrutinized to see what shortcuts were being taken, and if they were worth the performance. As far as I know, matrox didn't play these games, but their performance was not competitive.

I've been into PC's since the early 90's, and I don't ever remember seeing one in the wild. I remember hardware sites talking about the parhelia's 3 monitor support back in the day, but they never seemed that practical for most users.

Your P750 might be suffering from Vbios bit rot. I had corruption on my Parhelia that was fixed by reflashing the bios.

Oh gosh, I wish Matrox would make a comeback in the gaming market.

The 2D quality and the dual-head support, back when that was not a given, especially under Linux, which is what had me buying Matrox through the G450. The 2D fidelity was especially nice when running with a Voodoo 2, as the passthrough did degrade it some, and that was pretty noticeable if you were using something lower end like a Savage4 for 2D.

Sad the 750 didn't make it to the benchmarks, performance may not have been much different but it still would have been nice to see it at its peak
