  Answering your queries as non-spoilery as possible (please ignore if you don&apos;t wish to know):<br><br>A Realm Reborn: ff14 is in its own setting (though there is a recent crossover with ff11), the army was invading because that was their leader&apos;s final order (that one man who you thought was a judge is a big deal general of another legion, and he tipped off the protagonists). That actually was Cid, the song is a certified banger (it&apos;s called &quot;Answers&quot; and it&apos;s a very important song to the whole game). Tone shift is because it&apos;s 5 years later and a lot of people had their memories of those events erased (though there are people who were severely impacted)<br><br>Heavensward: Soken is doing the music at this point and that man never misses, main character man is having a really bad time. The cold is because you go to Ishgard in this expansion to end a 1000 year war against the dragons (Ishgard is permanently frozen because Bahamut ruined everything in a lot of places). John Fantasy is called &quot;Meteor Survivor&quot; canonically because he survived the Meteor loot box containing Bahamut (we call him John Fantasy as well). It&apos;s dusty because Ishgard has a big class problem and hate poor people/foreigners. Dragoons were actually introduced in A Realm Reborn and the 1.0 release, but the job quests connected really closely with the Ishgard plot and it made sense thematically.<br><br>Stormblood: That girl is actually a Monk despite her Dancer-esque attire, her boobs are indeed immaculate, and that is indeed Mr John Fantasy as the other Monk. Nature got messed up from Bahamut messing up the aetherial yadda yadda when he casted Server Crash. That other country is Kugane (also called Fantasy Japan). The samurai is ALSO Mr. John Fantasy, he went through quite the identity crisis with which job he wanted to rep. There is canonically usually nothing going on in that big head (our characters have a ton of himbo/bimbo dialogue lines). Stormblood is arguably the weakest expansion in almost every regard except for gameplay. They were cooking in that alone back in the day. <br><br>Shadowbringers: That&apos;s the big fight at the end of Stormblood actually. The guy speaking is the Crystal Exarch, Mr. John Fantasy never speaks (only yells). Three Swords Man keeps three swords because he usually breaks one or more in fights and wants a spare to grab immediately because he&apos;s just that powerful. Music is another banger as always. John Fantasy is discombobulated because this time he IS in a new world and has severe PTSD. Shadowbringers IS where the game started to peak in popularity, but only a year into launch. The world John is in is consumed by Umbral Aether (which is light energy), so the monsters are all angelic-themed (sick asf to fight). Believe it or not, but every character used to speak more complicated than Card Man until the fans asked them to SPEAK ENGLISH DAMNIT 😂. Those characters were transported to this world with you. Gunblades were introduced this expansion (class is called Gunbreaker, very cool tank class in ff14). Dancers were the other class introduced, &nbsp;alongside Female Viera (Male Viera were still in the oven and got released in the next expansion). The wizard is..... yeah, he&apos;s a wizard lol. Dark Knight was introduced in Heavensward, and had an insanely good job quest that, like Dragoon, tied in to the story of Shadowbringers very well (probably because the same woman who wrote the Dark Knight quest story wrote Shadowbringers and COOKED as usual)<br><br>Endwalker: Soken was feeling grunge at the time, cooked as usual. The silhouette represents something else very important, but don&apos;t worry about that rn. Red Mage was introduced in Stormblood, they just never showed it off. That&apos;s a new healer job called Sage. The relationship between the twins is that she runs off and almost dies and he&apos;s the group mom despite being a teen. Yeahhhh, it&apos;s an apocalypse like every expansion at this point. That guy is Estinien, professional dork and he&apos;s our buddy for the Dragoon quests as well as Heavensward. He&apos;s our actual sub in cases where we&apos;re unavailable because he&apos;s strong and himbo enough to fill John&apos;s shoes lol. Card Man dresses like a slut because he is a slut, he also upskirts himself when he casts spells lol. That&apos;s Old Sharlayan, very pompous and isolationist Greek-esque society. Most of John&apos;s friends are actually kinda outcasts from Sharlayan because they wanna do stuff. Y&apos;shtola is a baddie, but she&apos;s our baddie. The scythe is for the Reaper class introduced in this expansion. Moon&apos;s haunted <b>*cocks longsword.*</b><br><br>DawnTrail: Square Enix DOES get better and better. Endwalker was the ending of the story arc from A Realm Reborn. DawnTrail is the new story. Male Viera were introduced alongside that character in Endwalker. Estinien is truly in his side quest era here, he also likes to appear more cool than he really is. This city is very packed, largely because they had a big graphical update this expansion. That new double sword is the Viper class, introduced this expansion. Thancred is desperate enough to show off his nudes. His tattoo is actually a main character tattoo, they all got one in solidarity. John is fighting a rare two-headed Mamool Ja, famously powerful warriors. He&apos;s also the leader of their nation and likes challenging strong opponents to get to know them. That class is the Pictomancer, introduced in this expansion, also their damage is so over-tuned that they probably could accidentally wipe out half the city when showing off lol. Female Hrothgar was also introduced this expansion (they look better in game). Male Hrothgar were introduced in Shadowbringers, but apparently they have to stay in the broom closet. Funnily enough, usually people find us and ask for our help.

  I honestly wish they would have put &quot;Five Years Later&quot; at the midway point of the A Realm Reborn trailer. It would have cleared up so much confusion.

  Dark Knight actually came out in Heavensward, it was just used in Shadowbringers because its a good representation for the &quot;Warrior of Darkness&quot;. &nbsp;Also, the Viera in shadowbrings is the Dancer job, cause shes...you know...dancing

  John is known as the derplander as hes the default midlander, human male, and yea he looks a bit derp but as the player stand in we love his goofy self.

  FFXIV at it&apos;s core is very much a Final Fantasy Theme Park RPGMMO, it&apos;s got it&apos;s own story, but it draws inspirations from pretty much every FF game out there, you got the Golden Saucer minigames hub, an empire comprised of Judges and Magitek armor, and to really throw you for a loop, FFXIV is canon to the Nier universe ;)

  Honestly if you love stories, you&apos;ll adore FFxiv&apos;s story - I think it took me roughly a year or two of me going over the msq slowly, taking breaks as I went, but the journey is phenomenal. I don&apos;t think I&apos;ve cried so much playing a game in say Endwalker than I did for any other game besides the Xenoblade series

  SHe might&apos;ve looked like a dancer but she&apos;s a monk. Her outfit is actually available in the online store.<br><br>Also I love the constant &quot;bad guy&quot; comments on the dragoon guy because in game he&apos;s the wannabe edgelord but also a massive dork :face-blue-smiling:

  the 1.0 trailers depicts an event that took place shortly before the game begins called &quot;The Battle of Silvertear Skies&quot;, and it&apos;s actually an important and relevant plot point well into the current game. Long story short without spoilers, it explains why the Garlean Empire didn&apos;t steamroll Eorzea like it has ever other country they invaded, establishes the fact that an ancient dragon was guarding the continent for unknown reasons, and the end result of that battle resulted in something under the lake being being released. A LOT of somethings.
