If you're raised in a country family that's just regular food.

Well I don't know where you got your information from but it's not in Appalachia only where these thing are eaten. I was born and raised in Alabama youngest of 10 children we ate everything you named except groundhog and opossum. My granny could bake the best biscuits in a wood stove my mother as well. But from my first memories my mother had a gas stove. My granny died in her early 90's and never used anything but wood stoves. I was 13 yrs before I ate spaghetti as my mother raised our meat and grew everything we ate. Grew up on a farm and I am 78. Lost my Dad at 80 in 1982. Worked himself to death.<br>Those were the old days. I wish every child could grow up in that simplicity. God bless all the children in this evil world.🙏🙏🙏🙏

I still eat, corn pone, Hominy, apple stack cake, Fried Catfish and hush puppies, Leather britches (shuck beans), fat back, southern beans and corn bread (Soup Beans), wild greens, actually there isn’t anything in this video that I haven’t seen on tables in the last few years. Some things like those I listed, I’ve had in the last couple weeks..

This shows how out of touch with each other these days. I have eaten all but 2 of these dishes. These recipes aren't lost.

Not only were these meals where only served in southern states. The "49ers" searching for gold in California, oil field workers in Oklahoma and northern Texas, Alaskan gold/oil fields, and cattle trail drives.
