  I lived in Manhattan from 1966 to 2016 -- 50 years. When I knew I was moving the last two years, 2014 to 2016 I volunteered as a Big Apple Greeter taking visitors from around the world to see the hidden treasures of NYC. One of these treasures was the Polo Women&apos;s flagship store at Madison and 88th Street, right across the street from the Polo Men&apos;s Flagship mansion.<br>Lauren was given the Key to the City by Mayor Bloomberg for tearing down a modern building and erecting a faux Beaux Arts beauty that would have fit in the City of Paris. This is one of the locations I would take tourists where we were given a complementary glass of champagne (you have to ask for a beverage and they have everything). The building, while fairly new is breathtaking -- it never got old to visit there and I went often with guest visitors -- even the doorman were &quot;eye candy.&quot;

  Let’s be honest Bobby Garnett is the inspiration for RL, Mr. Lauren frequently visited Mr. Garnett shop and took from him. Give the respectful gentleman his flowers for what you know RL as today.
