  Rejected from the SEALs only to end up on the Blue Angels twice. And—for lack of a better term—a stunt double for one of the most iconic science fiction aircraft in recent memory. I’d say that second choice worked out just fine.

  Definitely a fun interview. Can you bring on the pilot who ejected from the Darkstar going Mach 10?  Would love to hear about their experience.

  I’ve seen the majority of the interviews but none was as compelling to me as this one. It was terrific and helped me better appreciate the movie.

  Muscle memory. I was assigned to check out the Colonel who came in as Wing Commander at our ATC base in the T-38. He came from a tour at the Pentagon, some years not flying. We take off, he has 3 wing rock PIOs, and then smooth as silk as he got the feel back. Easy checkout.

  I met Walleye at a Blue Angel event in the Oceana Air Show - he is so friendly, humble, sincere, and genuine.  What a remarkable officer! Thanks so much for a wonderful interview

  Great interview Mooch!  Gonna order Walleye's book immediately.   All .9 of my jet hours were with Walleye in the backseat of #5 during a show practice.   One of the highlights of my 27yr career!

  As a Brit I have to say how impressive the Blue Angels are, amazingly close formations, immaculately presented aircraft and crew. The professionalism shines from the first crew member in sight to the last one leaving. No egos allowed on show just a perfect team. 🇺🇸

  Outstanding interview. I had the distinct honor and pleasure of meeting Cmdr. Weisser several years ago when he delivered the Number 5 Solo Legacy F-18C Blue Angel jet to our aviation museum in Hickory, NC. We were one of two museums who had our Hornet flown to us rather than brought in on a truck, the other museum being the Smithsonian. There was a meet-and-greet in the hangar after he landed, and later he spoke at a fundraiser, much of his talk was a slightly less detailed version of this video, focusing on his career as a two-time Blue Angel team member and his role in the making of Top Gun: Maverick.
