  I had this exact motorcycle, year, color, everything identical and sold it in June 1980. I have regretted it for 40 years. Every time I think about it or look at old photos of it, I could cry. One of the biggest mistakes of my life.

  I&apos;M 68 now. I bought a 1972 Triumph Bonneville new for $1674.00. Paid cash, saved every penny I could working at a gas station for three dollars an hour. It had a gold tank similar to this one. That&apos;s how you could determine the year. Wish I still had it, lots of great memories!

  I was waiting for the expert to say the screws on the logo are rusty so that&apos;s gonna significantly lower the value of the bike.

  Not bad, but tires are Dunlop K81&apos;s, bike came with K70&apos;s. &nbsp;Rocker (valve cover) caps are aftermarket. &nbsp;Looks to be allen bolts on the primary cover, which would be aftermarket too. &nbsp;Missing the stickers on the oil tank, tool box cover and frame. &nbsp;Hard to tell, but I&apos;m going to guess the paint is acrylic, not the enamel it came with. &nbsp;It&apos;s a bit too green, a nice job though. &nbsp;Looks like a Don Hutchinson, Wakefield, MA paint job. &nbsp;$9K would be on the high end of retail (in 1970, it was around $1,300). &nbsp;Bonneville&apos;s are a bit more pricey.
