  If Bird played today imagine a mix between Luka and jokic with KDs efficiency with a cut throat attitude when it comes to competition.   He would light this league up.  They only thing defenders could do today is foul him and he's still a 90 percent free throw shooter.  So yea,  he'd be 30 to 35 points a night.   Hes also 4th in rebounds all time among small forwards and you could see what kind of passer he was.   He would laugh his way to 3 or 4 consecutive MVPs today

  The best way i heard his speed described was "it doesnt matter how fast you THOUGHT you were, he would play at HIS speed, and he is better than you there."

  You guys were amazed about Larry being that guy even in college. Larry played for Indiana State, a no-name school nobody but us Hoosiers had ever heard of. They had an undefeated season Larry's senior year. They lost the Championship game to Magic's team. Larry broke his left index finger the summer after he graduated Indiana State. He was playing softball and jammed his finger. He didn't go to the doctor or anything so the finger healed funny. You can see how bent up and crooked it is when he puts it up at the end of that 3-point contest. Larry said his ball handling was never the same after that. Imagine that. All the no-look passes, behind his head passes, touch passes, football passes, behind the back passes, and all the different ways he would put the ball someplace you didn't expect it to go. That was with what Larry considered to be significantly inferior ball handling compared to what he could do in college. We never saw Larry play an NBA game when he wasn't hurt. He only had a handful of years in the pros before he threw his back out making a gravel driveway for his mom. His back was never the same and his game definitely suffered. Before that, he was always playing on sprained ankles, with broken noses, black eyes. In one game against the Pacers, he hit the floor really hard and broke his right orbital socket. He had McHale distract the doctor and snuck back out on the floor without clearance to play. He went back in the game and proceeded to cook the Pacers. He has said that he had double vision for the rest of the game and was shooting at a spot halfway between the two hoops he saw. He hardly missed a shot that night.
