As an Indian I am so proud of this young man. He handled this so well. If you know the culture of traditional Indians you'd understand how hard that must be for the parents to stand up to that man due to his status. So proud of this unit. Wishing the young lads the best future.

If my sibling knowingly married one of my bullies, I don’t think I’d ever be able to talk to them again. Even if they apologized. PTSD from being bullied is very real.

As an Indian American, I have to say that he was able to walk away only because he has lived outside India for so long. If he still lived there, it would have been very hard to go against the elders. As hinted at, their parents would have forced him to marry and brother to just accept and live with it. I bet the school knew who his bullies were and hid it because of who her father was.
