I have a tough time squaring a limited flood with the Bible's account. Not that I don't understand Dr. Ross's textual criticism of words could mean the whole planet or the known world of the writer/readers. My big problem is that if God knows the flood is limited, why we would he have Noah build an Ark for 100 years when he could have just told him to relocate a couple hundred miles away? Why house all these animals when animals in other regions would quickly back fill the void left by the limited flood. This is to me, why a limited flood and the Bible's account don't jive.

South Africa here. Plenty of Flood geology here. Folded Sedimentary rock formations like those found in the Grand Canyon.

Dr. Ross is so calm and clear in his presentation. Thanks for posting. I encourage people to watch his lectures on creation.

Are you susgesting the flood was held in a sort of a basen. The high mountians around the known wirld at the time would have contained the water for the duration? I often wondered how, if the flood was local, what stopped the water from finding its own level in the seas and oceans around it. A very large natural basen would explain this.

Is the narrative what was shown to Moses or what Noah said? If it’s a vision, Moses would be addressing the event without the limitations of man at the time of the event.

It’s clear the rock of Gibraltar broke and the Atlantic Ocean flooded into what had been a dry Mediterranean basin. Know this from the salt/fresh water levels of the Black Sea. Once fresh lake, covered by salt water (Atlantic via Med.) to become a Sea. It has two currents in the vertical column and different quantum creatures in each.

Lake Superior and the Black Sea have land holding them in place. What land masses held the flood in place?

42:57 another explanation for exterminating women and children is that it was common hyperbole at that time to denote the degree to which a people were conquered. We see examples of this in extra biblical texts where it is said that everyone was killed, but then goes on to describe what they did with survivors. Also, cities were more like military installations. The civilians lived outside the city.

Water seeks its level. What held boundary held the water within 200 miles?

Why have an ark that took 100 years to make, if you could just take the family and animals to the high Zagros mountains nearby if not covered. Like Lot fleeing to the mountains to escape the Sodom ‘flood.’ Water also sits horizontally. If high mountains are covered, that spreads out horizontally. Mountains of course may not have been present during Noah, thrust up during flood cataclysm.
