I worked at Microsoft for 15 years, just retired. I've built and ran PCs since PC/MS DOS, through Windows. This past year I've built out a Linux based TrueNAS server and have built out a gaming PC with Linux Nobara (KDE) with Intel CPU and AMD 9070XT 16TB. I'm super impressed with both Linux experiences. I've installed 45 games on Steam on the Nobara PC and they all work (some I pick different Proton versions, etc). I'm very happy. What I'm most pleased about is that these OS's are enablers while Windows 11 is turning into a bloat monster that wants to master me. Microsoft has lost it's way.

I always remember "the cloud" coming out right around the exact same time that massive data center outside Salt Lake City was coming on line. Always felt that the cloud was simply the government's own data repository.
