Imo the storyline with Alex is a heartbreaking metaphor for mentally ill or drug addicted parents. They self harm, are comatose, can’t take care of themselves, etc. The scene where Alex couldn’t open the can of soup made me cry 😭

The decision to keep Amy Madigan's character out of all of the movie's marketing was such a smart move. It made her character's arrival that much more memorable.

32:40 EXACTLY!! Lupita for "US" and Toni Colette for "Hereditary" should both be winners for their roles in these movies!

This movie is such a great allegory for the trauma of school shootings. A class of kids is gone completely and no one talks about it, they sweep it under the rug, don’t do anything to actually figure out the cause. Brilliant. The nod to 2:17am and the 217 votes in the house in 2022 that blocked an assault weapon ban was the cherry on top. Watching this movie you understand why Jordan Peele fired his manager when he failed to get this movie for Monkey Paw.

Amy Madigan winning an Oscar for aunt Gladys made me so happy as a horror fan. The genre never gets its respect so to see 2 of the biggest awards for acting being won by horror roles made me happy.

16:37 Other people have pointed this out, but not only did Paul (?) cheat on his wife Donna with another woman and lie about drinking, but he also had sex with Justine knowing that he could have potentially caught something from that syringe that one dude had on him and possibly passed it on to Justine without her knowing

Amy Madigan is genuinely incredible in this movie. She manages to perfectly blend the comedic, kooky weird-older-aunt side of Gladys with the terrifying witch that feeds off the energy of people and children. I found Weapons fun, but the movie doesn't truly start until she enters it for real.
