  In case anyone is confused why I repeatedly reference f&apos; &quot;crossing&quot; the x axis, as if it couldn&apos;t &apos;bounce&apos; off the axis instead, this is because it can&apos;t bounce off the axis instead. The roots occur at interior points, but the critical points (f&apos;(x)=0) occur at the interval ends.   As someone who has spent years prepping for the YKS but then had to leave the country a few months ago (permanent leave btw) I can very much confirm how competitive and bullshitted that exam is. Knowing the information alone isn&apos;t enough you have to be trained from 5th grade specifically for the question types of this exam. It was everyone&apos;s biggest nightmare when I was in HS and man is it a REAL shock to see this happening in it.

  I think if the test authors for these entrance exams are getting their own exam problem wrong in a way that requires an actual court to resolve they should take a step back and think about what they are actually testing for. &nbsp;I would expect a college professor to present a problem like this, not, you know, a university entrance exam tutor. &nbsp;Something tells me that nobody will learn anything from this whole fiasco and it will probably happen again in the future.

  In other words, to defend their &quot;official&quot; answer in court, the exam writers would need to &quot;bend over backwards&quot; an infinite number of times... between x=3 and x=4.
