KIDDING! However, we at Low End University are obviously biased toward bass players, and this trio from Melbourne, Australia kicked it up a notch with a killer drummer and TWO bass players! To sweeten the deal, Clay Gober from Polyphia makes a filthy cameo to imprint his signature style on this groovy, harmony-driven track. In this video, I listen to The Omnific for the first time (featuring bassists Toby Peterson-Stewart and Matt Fack) and talk about their perfect blend of modern bass tones, the catchy dual melodies, their usage of great voice leading, and the slow-burn composition that builds toward a massive breakdown after Clay rips it up! I break down a few of their techniques, Clay’s hybrid pop-picking technique, and more. I want to shout from the rooftops even more about HOW full-range the bass guitar can be, as seen here. Hats off, lads! I can’t wait to hear more. --------------------------------------------------- 🚨New Videos Every Week🚨 --------------------------------------------------- Mark Michell is an internationally-touring and recording bass player known for his work with Scale the Summit, Tony MacAlpine, Tetrafusion, Watermox, and more.
