I don't know why its hard to believe humans were always traveling to the Americas and back from all directions by land and sea.

"There is no population on earth whose ancestry is simple." Truth is even if on foot, people always have always moved around and mixed. "The Sioux were not who we thought they were and neither was anyone else" could not be more true. Great presentation!

This just shows that when men and women encounter each other, they do what people do and children are born that are mixed. There is nothing unusual here.

Very infomative. But please never use that transition that looks like a failing video signal again. It causes noticeable eyestrain after just a few transitions making it impossible to watch the entire video and instead just listening to it.

Well myself being from the Omaha, I often looked into my tribes history and was curious about our origin. Through written accounts of Charles Laflesche he was able to capture oral literature as well as sum up other tribes stories. We did originate from the Ohio River Valley. We were apart of a bigger nation as one before we migrated west. The Omaha, Ponca, Kansas, Osage and Quapaw were one people often referred as the Dhegiha branch of the Siouan language. In one of the origin stories it mentions we came from the east near a place of Big Water. I think that was the Atlantic ocean, because we also had a society called the Shell Society that would adorn seashells. The Siouan language was also on the eastern side of the Appalachian mountains among populations there. Millennia ago we were one people.

Not difficult to believe Eurasians traveled from western Eurasia to the far east Eurasia over 24000 years ago. Humans have always travelled far.

There are stories among the Mandan and Hidatsa peoples (in and around ND) about having blond blue-eyed members derived from "Viking" travelers who arrived and settled among them. Not only that, there is an archaeologically-studied site in ND that showed that the people of that village built "long houses" (rather than round earthlodges) very similar to those found at the Viking site in Nova Scotia. <br> I do not proclaim this as "the answer", but offer this as another hypotheses to ponder among the number offered in this vid.

Some folks in Finland believe they have genetic connections with the people who crossed to Alaska. Their story: one group went west to Europe and another went east to NA and SA.

I like the recent evidence that a lot of the Copper from the bronze age in Europe, came from the Copper Mountains by Lake Superior. Not surprising a shipping route gets forgotten.
