It warmed my heart to see Gino Vannelli on your list (my brother-in-law was the bassist on the Brother to Brother tour)...even before watching this the first tune that came to my mind was "Living Inside Myself"

I came on here expecting Genesis, and sure enough, it was there.
CP-70 = Tony Banks, the GOAT! :D
His CP work in his solo albums is gorgeous.

My first technically professional job as a musician was with a gospel group that is still the only group I ever worked with that had their own tour bus. But it turned out that they didn't hire me for my awesome seventeen year old bass skills. They hired me for my strong back. Their keyboardist had what was then thought of as a "full tour rig." That was a Rhodes suitcase 88, a Hammond B3 with Leslie. and a CP 80.

"Steppin Out" definitely starts with the CP70 but then gets regular acoustic piano layered on top, along with a lovely glockenspiel.

The moment you started playing this thing, I immediately realized that this was the sound of Genesis all over the “Duke” album, and more beyond there.

I appreciate the fact that you look joyful when you're playing.

Those two Genesis songs were exactly what I immediately thought of. As far as I know, they were always used with the venerable Boss CE 1 Chorus. Tony always had his own distinctive sound.

And the fact that Phil and Peter also used the CP 70... The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

7:09 So, if you look at the footage of Don’t Stop Believing from Journey’s Escape Tour Live in Houston, Texas 1981, you’ll see that Jonathan Cain brought only a bright red Yamaha grand piano with a Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 on top of it for the tour and not a CP-70b like he often did for future tours!

The CP-70 was used a lot by Brazilian pianists in the 70s, especially by Cesar Camargo Mariano, who has a great rendition of Madalena, written by Ivan Lins, sung by Elis Regina. You got to check it out!
