A cute little tip about being efficient with your food: Pals will eat anything in the feed box from left to right in priority. However, they also place items left to right. So if you run out of the food you want your pals to eat, ingredients you don't want them eating can be placed in that slot, causing inefficiencies. Therefore, you configure your Feed Box to only accept 'Food', and turn off 'Ingredients'. Next to your farms, have something like a cooler box or whatever to store the raw ingredients in, and have it configured to ONLY accept ingredients. This means the only thing that will ever go in your Feed Box will be the food you want your Pals to eat.

I'm only level 26 or so, but here are a few tips I've learned. If you're building a base next to a cliff wall or other terrain, and the base full wall is overlapping with the terrain too much that it turns red, try building an angled half-wall where you want the full wall to be. If that works at any corner, then you can usually use the replace feature to swap it with a full wall, and it will be blue. If you need a full foundation but it turns red, try doing 2 triangle foundations instead.  You might just be able to build a full square after all, just in 2 pieces. If that doesn't work, try using floors instead. The stone mining station can be almost completely sunk into a cliff face and still be useable. Just leave a little bit of the Cattiva side exposed and sink it into a cliff face. Now it looks like they're actually mining the wall, too. To get an idea, I built my base a short walk from the first fast-travel pillar, with wooden foundations and stairs making a path up the cliff face. Then I built a Motte at the top for my main structure. The highest wind jump is at the very edge of my base and I could just barely put my ranch in the center. The other end stops after including a few of the berry bushes and trees, and a bit of the bare dirt area.  Makes a good spot for the Bailey's gate, with a small courtyard with a little crumbling stone wall and some farms off to the side. Easily defensible,  can toggle raids by simply opening and closing the front gate. It's not efficient,  but damn is it beautiful.

for anyone who was confused as to why you cant place walls down on the triangle foundations, you have to use diagonal walls.... (i had to look it up lol)

If you're more of an aesthetic builder, you can make a 2x2 foundation before putting down your palbox and line up the box itself, not the highlighted area,  where the 4 foundations come together to have it perfectly centered. That gives you enough space for a 14x14 square area within the base, or a 16x16 octagon with the triangular foundations.

Put a rug under your palbox before you build it, and then you'll be able to use "replace" in build mode to change which foundation type it is. it's good for futureproofing your base if you change your mind about what look you want without needing to disassemble the palbox first.
