  For a long time I thought the gold standard for this piece was Sylvie Guillem and Manuel Legris. Can't believe Platel's precision actually exceeds Sylvie's in this performance.

  Elizabeth Platel epitomises the French style in this, and is absolutely beautiful. She has always been my favourite dancer from the Paris Opera.

  Definitely my go to version of the Grand Pas.  In a world gone crazy, what a great relief is to be found in performances such as this.  I wondered what it was that made Platel's interpretation of this pas de deux so exquisite.  Then I realised it was her musicality and phrasing, filling each note with an apparent easy grace and pursuing it to its absolute conclusion.

  Sa technique.... géniale! Quelle souplesse, quel équilibre, quelle élégance et facilité! Ça me fait plaisir de savoir que cette femme est maintenant la directrice de l&apos;école de danse, un endroit qui lui permet de transmettre sa connaissance et son expertise aux enfants. <br><br>Elle montre une élégance et emporte une grâce qu&apos;on ne voit pas chez les danseurs d&apos;aujourd&apos;hui. <br><br>Et bien sûr, j&apos;aime aussi M. Le Riche.

  Beyond technique, I really like their sense of connection. It&apos;s as if they&apos;re telling a love story.

  Astonishing. Pure, perfect lines, great ports des bras and exacting &nbsp;musicality. Nicholas was excellent too. But Elisabeth brings this somewhat female &nbsp;tiresome variation to a whole new level. Sadly over the years this variation has been marred by too many student hopefuls who choose to perform this variation. These young dancers looking to fulfill dreams &nbsp;lack far too much in both technical skill and the ability to dance - as opposed to stringing together a group of steps. Brava Elisabeth for showing the beauty in this piece.

  Of the dozens of versions I have seen, this one remains number one. Mature elegance, beauty and power in abundance. Who could ask for more?
