The game absolutely deserved a sequel, such a tragedy that we will never see one. The combat was honestly my favourite part of this game. Especially jumping from car to car which was an absolute highlight for me. I look forward to watching this video as your GTA retrospectives were absolute bangers

Even though it was unrealistic, I liked that jiang didn’t do anything to wei because of his loyalty and putting the family first

Noone mentions how insanely accurate the location was. These places - although reimagined - are all real. I live in Aberdeen in Hong Kong! The streets are so well done, from the pavement, to the barriers, trashcans, and traffic light sounds. Not to mention all the Cantonese they used. It really does feel like Hong Kong, certain locations are exact locations I walk by from time to time.

It really is criminal that not a lot of people know about this game. It really felt like the beginning of a fruitful franchise at the time of it's release

I'd add to the wedding scene, that The Black Orchid you stole meant, that the couple stays together for the rest of their lives, which... kinda came true ... in a grim way.

Will Yun Lee is a pretty solid actor who should be a bigger star than he is. I remember his first big project was Detective Danny Woo in the Witchblade pilot; he's killed halfway through (as the character in the comics his character was based on was) but when the series premiered a year later he'd appear as a ghost the main character Sara talked to. He wound up being SO popular with audiences the first season ended with Sara REWINDING TIME to the point right before he was killed and ensuring he survived.

Lee's really great in Sleeping Dogs; he's able to show Wei's torn loyalties and the character's kind of screwed up attitude towards women. And in the end, doing the right thing is still the most important thing. By the end of the game he seems to have turned a corner, but he's got a lot to deal with internally.
