  Ford paid $2.34 for a 9 hour work day which is 0.26 an hour. Today that would equal $10.22 an hour. Hard to believe the state I live in the minimum wage is still $7.25/hour.

  This is the Huston house (now burned down in 2024 by some homeless dude from Colorado....still going through the course system). &nbsp;It was built in 1927. &nbsp;Not during plantation days. &nbsp;The original plantation house has been gone for years. I wanted to know more so I did some research. The chimney is the oldest surviving structure on the property built in the 1850s.

  Ford has a connection to the Georgia coast too. About a half hour north of Butler Island. In the 1930s he took over the town of Ways Station, GA renamed it Richmond Hill and made it into his “winter home”.
