I have a great great grandfather recorded in 1861 & 1871 census living at 17 Nelson Street. In 1881 he was living at 34 Fournier Street. Very interesting documentary.

And yet Engels wrote that Dublin had the worst housing in Britain. Huge parts of the city were like Bethnal Green with on average 12 people in every room and twice the child mortality of London in the 19th C. <br>The British elite has always despised their own poor and we Irish were at the bottom. Thank God we fought our way out.

The picture I use for my You Tube account is George Frederick Sheen born 1799. He lived at Nelson Street before the name change to Fournier Street
