  I am 72 and still work as a Hospice Admissions RN. It is the place I truly stand out and am honored to continue to serve. I have known for years that I read people and whatever room I go into, well. It is rare that I don't leave the people I meet with feeling supported and relieved. Then I go home, alone, where I am at peace with my amazing dog and no other people. I live a truly blessed life.

  I've always known I was different. But at times knowing things made me feel disconnected  from the regular world.

  I am an Indigo Empath. Everyone thought something was wrong with me. As I aged I realized that there was nothing wrong with me. I have a gift that is beautiful 😊! It was very difficult until it dawned on me that it was something good for me and others. My gut is always correct.

  i have been like this my entire life, but i wasn't conciously aware of these details, i just knew i was "different", "sensitive", "intuitive". it wasn't until i suffered massive burnouts and overwhelm that caused me to behave badly that i got into counselling and learn all these things about "empaths" and "narcissists"...what an adventure life can be!

  I had lost that and when my Briggs Myers test showed I has this, my therapist said I had allowed it to be shut down and encouraged me to work on gaining the intuitive self.  What I got to learn was I had allowed others to shut my voice down to control me.  After a few years of going back into wilderness areas to reactivate the Native American way of being one with nature,  I again found some not comfortable with this gift and simply learned to keep my perceptions quiet and simply utilize what I picked up on just for my own observations to keep me safely quiet.

  I've quit  involvement. Selective Boundaries now. Knowing the room in seconds.  I see this now  that my Mother recognized this in me and directed understanding. Which means she was empathic too. I see it in my daughter as well.

  A former teacher said I was very intense in grade one. Grade one! I had never thought this about myself especially when I was so young. I’m 71 now. Still intense.

  This is totally me. I can walk up to anyone and have a conversation. There are not many of us around and it's hard to be here on this planet.  Yes, I'm still waiting that calling that I came here for, something is still missing that I've always been  searching for
