Opening credits, they literally followed a walking cat and executed it beautifully.  No AI, no computers, just eyes and brains and hands!

It is well-nigh impossible for anyone under fifty today to imagine the America (and the world) of the 1930s.  Millions and millions of people thrown out of work and left to fend for themselves in a dog-eat-dog world.  Standing in line for hours at soup kitchens. Hitching rides on farm trucks or "riding the rails" was how you got from one place to another, hopefully with day-wages work at the end.  Author Fredrick Lewis Allen paints a vivid picture of those fraught years in his "Since Yesterday: the 1930s in America."  Hundreds of thousands (not an exaggeration) of parentless children and pre-teens were roaming the land, picking fruit or hiring themselves out to farmers.  They became adults before they had had a chance to be youths.

People were so different back then, I've heard my grandpa talking about these times how tough it was yet there was very little crime at least in the country. The contrast in this movie between Laurence Harvey (Dove) and Jane Fonda's character so real. Some people have a moral compass, and some people can justify or make excuses for anything they do. We have a lot of that going on nowadays.

When the opening credits are by Saul Bass who just follows a black cat,  the movie has a good chance to be awesome.

What a great movie! Capucine is great in this film. She always got bad reviews! And i love Tatum O'Neal's Mother, Joanna Moore in her tiny role as Miss Precious. What  a great actress she was! Thanks for uploading this great film!
